Tutorial Christmas Tree Earrings

Hey there :)

today I have a last minute Christmas tutorial for you (Deutsch unten :)

I have made some simple but amazing looking Christmas tree earrings from polymer clay and documented the progress for you guys.

I started off with two green cone shapes at the same time to make them as identical as possible.

Then you need to pierce the tree with a needle tool (or anything similar) and insert a head pin or an eye pin (or a piece of wire).
I did that later and then flattened all the tree branches again.. so learn from my mistakes and do that before ;)
Also it's much easier this way to have something to hold onto.

I took some nail scissors and carefully cut small slits into the trees to make it look like tree branches. The scissors need to be almost closed for this. It's not hard but you might need some practice.

You can then create a tree trunk. Either with one colour brown or by mixing some shades of brown together for a marble look and therefore a wood effect. Roll a sausage and cut pieces for the trunk.

Attach the trunk to the tree.
However, I didn't like the look of it and removed it again.

Instead I made some beads out the same clay mixture. Just roll it in your hands, make them a bit oval if you want and pierce through them. I baked them on an eye pin.

After baking I placed the beads on head pins and created a loop with my needle nose pliers on the other end. Then I attached them to the little trees (which in my case had eye pins at the bottom). I threaded on golden beads above the trees, shortened the wire and created a loop to attach to an ear wire.
Oh and I also brushed on a little bit of gold paint to make them more interesting.
Here there are:

I hope you liked this small tutorial and give it a try. Send me some pictures if you want :) and ask any questions you might have.

Merry Christmas!

Hallo :)

Frohe Weihnachten!
